Turret Orthodontics – the North West’s leading orthodontics practice – is bracing itself for significant expansion after clinching a lucrative NHS contract from Trafford Primary Care Trust (PCT).

The Sale-based practice, which recently completed a major £400,000 renovation programme, was awarded the long term contract ahead of several other tenders.

It will further enhance Turret’s growing patient base by 100 extra people per year. In addition, the contract will help to reduce the practice’s waiting list, which currently stands at 12 months. To date, Turret has treated 20,000 patients since it was opened by one of the industry’s most respected orthodontists, Mohit Khurana, in 2000.

Dr Khurana is a consultant orthodontist at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and a lecturer at University of Liverpool’s School of Dental Sciences. He commented: “The new NHS contract awarded by Trafford PCT is a significant win for Turret Orthodontic.

“The agreement will enable us to treat a larger number of patients in a shorter period of time. Over the last 12 months, Turret has been transformed into a six surgery practice that boasts state-of-the-art facilities and technology. This, combined with the new NHS contract, will allow more people in the region to access a wider range of NHS orthodontic services.”

Established in 2000, Turret Orthodontics provides NHS and private orthodontic treatments to both children and adults. Using the latest techniques, such as Invisalign (invisible braces), ceramic (tooth coloured braces) and lingual braces (hidden behind the teeth), the practice has grown considerably in nine years.
