Everyone wants the perfect smile
More adults are opting for dental braces in the quest for a perfect smile, according to a Sale dental practice.
Figures compiled by Turret Orthodontics showed that the number of adults having braces between 2005 and 2009 increased by a whopping 560 per cent, compared to the previous four year period.
In the past four years 935 adults have undergone orthodontic treatment – between 2001 and 2005, this figure was just 165.
The practice attributed the rapid rise to the influence of celebrity culture as well as the impact a confident smile can have in the workplace and on employment prospects.
